If you want to beat the heat for a bit and catch a movie while staying on the Laughlin Strip, the Riverside Cinema should be on you list. If you are at The Pioneer, the Colorado Belle, The Edgewater, or the Aquarius, no matter how hot outside, a slow stroll on the River Walk will get you there in a few minutes. You can walk under some cooling misters at the Aquarius Kiosk or stop to sit on some shady benches. If you are at The Tropicana, you can walk across Casino Drive into the Edgewater and then use the River Walk.
Water Taxi Service is like a Disneyland Ride to and from the Movies!
If you are at ANY hotel, other than The Tropicana, you can take the water Taxi for $4 and get to the Riverside Resort effortlessly to take in a movie. That is not too shabby in itself as the Water Taxi, even on the hottest days is cool and refreshing with the breeze kicked up by those twin Honda 200 HP outboards pushing you upstream to the Riverside with an occasional mist of wake spray to cool you off. Nice to cruise the Colorado River to and from your movie watching!
We just saw Lucy here last weekend. We stop in here often to get caught up on the newest movies with no crowds to make the experience frustrating.
Six average sized, comfortable theaters
There are 6 theaters and their size is smaller than some huge urban cinemas, but larger than some too. Size is adequate considering you are in the middle of the Southwester Desert; its 118 degrees outside on a Saturday and between a breakfast buffet and lunch you can get caught up on all the movies you can’t find time for when your are not in Laughlin…
Sound quality is good – seats comfy – wine and beer at concession
The THX and Dolby sound systems are done up just fine. There are several wall-mounted speakers in each theater. The seats are comfortable, rock somewhat, and have cup holders.
The concession stand is well stocked with all the goodies and has a full bar! If you are “Partying” while in Laughlin there is no need to take a break while taking in a movie. You can order mixed drinks, wine and beer to take into the theaters.
The ticket prices are average and are discounted for first and last shows of the day at a mere $6.00.
Some people find the Cinemas hard to find as the Riverside is SO BIG
Look at the aerial view below so when you enter the casino you will know what corner of the venue you need to work your way toward. If you have trouble with bearings ask directions to the Watch Shop and grab that escalatoir outside the Watch Shop UP to the 2nd floor – fast right, fast left and walk down the long corridor past the Purse and wallet store and arcade to the Riverside Cinemas.
